Chungnam Laver Fisheries Cooperative (Chungnam Laver Suhyup)

Chungnam Laver Fisheries Cooperative (Chungnam Laver Suhyup) is a specialized fisheries cooperative established under the approval of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF) to strengthen Korea’s laver industry and promote the global export of premium Korean seaweed products. Headquartered in Seocheon, Chungcheongnam-do—one of Korea’s oldest and most renowned laver-producing regions with over 550 years of cultivation history—the cooperative represents leading laver producers and processors dedicated to supplying premium-quality Korean seaweed to international markets.
The cooperative operates a state-of-the-art Fisheries & Food Industry Hub Complex, completed in 2022, which integrates production, processing, quality control, research, logistics, and export support under one facility. Through continuous investment in modern infrastructure, strict quality management systems, and sustainable production practices, Chungnam Laver Suhyup supports its member companies in producing high-quality dried laver, roasted seaweed, seasoned seaweed, sushi nori, seaweed snacks, and customized OEM/private-label products for global buyers.
With Korean laver exports continuing to grow worldwide, Chungnam Laver Suhyup is committed to positioning “Chungnam Laver" as a globally recognized premium brand. In 2024, the cooperative developed the Seocheon Gim regional brand and established Korea’s first International Dried Gim Exchange to strengthen global trade and pricing competitiveness.
